Hockey: Elk boys top Jefferson 6-1

Six players scored a goal apiece as the Elk River Elks beat Bloomington Jefferson 6-1 in their finale at the St. Louis Park holiday tournament on Thursday.

Robby Pullar and Nash Bleyhl connected in the first period, and Taylor Bryan, Andrew Zerban, Michael Katchmark and Nick McCormack made it 6-0 on the third period before the Jaguars got on the board.

The Elks cruised despite going 0-for-11 on power plays. Jefferson was 0-for-3.

Anders Franke made 20 saves for the Elks.

The Elks were 1-2 in the tournament and finished the 2010 portion of the schedule 5-6. They will resume conference play at Osseo next Saturday, 7:30 p.m.
